Fine artist Anthony Tyley lives and works near Cambridge, specialising in traditional portraits. Commissioned works are in the collections of Corpus Christi, Trinity, and King's College Cambridge. Portraits have also been commissioned by H. M. Armed Forces, notably of General Sir Michael Walker, GCB CMG CBE ADC Gen, now Chief of the Defence Staff. Anthony has painted portraits for local families, and  local landscapes and events, notably Ely Cathedral, and Tattersall's Horse Sales at Newmarket.

Anthony Tyley was born in Worcestershire, England, in 1943. From 1963 onwards, Anthony built a career with BBC Television in London over 25 years. He was a founder member of the BBC - 2 "Arena" arts programme production team, and built a career as Producer/Director of a wide range of Arts Programmes.

By 1990, Anthony had left the BBC to undertake a full-time Diploma Course in Fine Art Painting at the City & Guilds of London Art School. This traditional, drawing based course was led by Sir Roger De Grey, KCVO, President of The Royal Academy of Arts. Visiting tutors included London portrait artist Humphrey Ocean RA, who greatly encouraged Anthony's interest in portraiture. Graduating in 1994, Anthony established his studio in Cambridgeshire later the same year.

Anthony now teaches traditional drawing  and painting to both children and adults, which forms an important aspect of the work.
