Brigadier Richard Smith, OBE QGM

The Brigadier's parents commissioned their son's portrait in 1999: at the time he was Commander Royal Artillery, Germany. The sittings took place both at the Brigadier's home in Bad Oeynhausen, and the studio.

I have fond memories of Richard, in full formal military dress, standing alongside his Jeep Cherokee outside my studio in the Cambridgeshire countryside, speaking to Bucharest in Romania on his mobile phone, where he is now working in a diplomatic role.
